The factory audit checklist

A practical checklist for company documents, capacity, quality records, observations and corrective actions.

Set the audit scope

Share product requirements, processes and expected volume. Agree the site, access scope and records needed, including equipment lists, schedules and inspection records.

Follow the production flow

Review incoming materials, production, testing and shipment. Check calibration, batch traceability, nonconforming stock segregation and rework against actual order records.

Separate certificates from observations

Record certificate holder, address, scope and validity, then verify with the issuer. A management certificate does not establish product certification or guarantee every batch. Disclose inaccessible areas.

Close corrective actions

Record dated evidence, findings, owners and deadlines. Distinguish acceptable findings from issues requiring correction before ordering, and verify closure before production approval.
